About Me

I'm Nikki Hollinson and I am a therapist in Vancouver BC with a Masters in Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University.
I am a member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors which grants me the title of Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).

For potential clients, I believe in transparency and choice and recognize
that for some folks it is helpful to know who you are sitting with.
So here is a little more information about me:

I chose to go by Nikki Holli Therapy because it's one of the nicknames my friends have for me. I like to bring similar aspects of who I am as a friend into how I show up as your therapist by being genuinely curious, attuned to you, and demonstrating that I care about you and your inner world, and I have a laid back casual vibe in how I show up in the therapy room (often sitting cross- legged on my chair with my shoes off).

I identify as a cis woman (she/her) and heterosexual.
I grew up with the privilege of being a middle-class white settler.
I was born and raised in Richmond, on Musqueam Coast Salish territory.
My family heritage is Scottish, British, Austrian, and Norwegian.

I have attended therapy regularly for many years; therefore, I also have lived experience as a client and a person who is in-flux, stepping forward and backward, learning, and healing.
I have lived experience with anxiety, panic, dissociation/suppressing emotions, low self-esteem, family history of tragic loss, and a family history of alcohol use for coping.

I am an introvert who:

- loves connecting with people and feels pretty comfortable around strangers but will need time to recharge afterwards,

- will gravitate towards deep and meaningful conversations,

- is content in my own company, and

- enjoys slow-paced and solo hobbies.

I have been learning a lot about accepting and embracing this side of myself in the past few years.

As many introverts are, I am drawn to extroverted friends and partnership, and therefore have experience navigating those differences in close connections.
